Charles Francis

Founder/Director

My background is in the nursing and social care sector. I began my career as a qualified nurse supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. I worked for over 25 years managing staff to reintegrate individuals back into society and providing support for them to live independently in their local communities.

In 2007 I trained as a Minister of Religion and gained a master’s in theology from the University of Chester. During my tenure as a Pastor in Lewisham, I founded a ministry to feed homeless men and women and support them in practical ways. Through links with external organisations, I was able to provide them with dental and medical care. I was also able to establish a food bank to support vulnerable families and offer support to a local women’s refuge.

I currently serve as a volunteer Associate Pastor in the Belvedere area.

I was delighted to be invited to join the Projectfivek team as a director. This has given me the opportunity to use my skills and experience to support vulnerable young children and their families in our local communities.

I currently manage my own HR Consultancy Agency and work with schools and businesses to manage their personnel and administration requirements. I have an MBA in Executive Business Management with over 20 years of experience working in senior management positions in both the private and public sectors.

As a Christian youth leader, I have led projects involving young people, and several residential retreats for children from all faith or none, with a wide range of social and economic needs. Frequently this involved working directly with their families to give them the same equality of opportunity as their peers.

I have also recently been appointed as a Governor at a Harris Academy Primary school in Croydon with link responsibilities for Health & Safety.

“Since 2007 I have worked for the Ford Motor Company as a Research and Development engineer, developing batteries for electric vehicles. My role predominantly involves exploring methods that can be applied to prolong the charging capacity of new batteries.

In my previous career as a local retail proprietor, I enjoyed working with clients and developed good relationships with the local community. I provided an essential local grocery service for people from mixed and diverse ethnic backgrounds catering to their daily needs”.
